I read this book back in March of this year and just revisited it so I thought I would re-review it.
Tia is almost 19 years old. She is graduating school with honors which is pretty good for a girl who was put into the foster system at 9 years old after her mother committed suicide and her father lost the plot gambling and drinking heavily. Tia has been lucky enough to find a nice foster family who consider her one of their own and treat her like a daughter.
Tia dreams of becoming a Councillor and is enrolled in college to get her degree, only things never go as planned and her world is about to change.
Tommy is 29. He is his father namesake and the next in line (so to speak) to take over his fathers business. This business in not what you would call upstanding or even above board. Many people would call them the mob.
Tommy's father tells him that he has been given Tia as payment for a debt. This is not usually how his father works, so instantly Tommy's suspisions are raised. Tom Snr is giving Tia to Tommy 'to marry or whatever' but Tommy doesnt want to get married even though he know this is the next step in his 'career' path but somehow the thought of owning a woman appeals to him.
Tia has comflicting feelings about Tommy. One minute he can me dominating, controlling and violent and other times he is loving and caring.
The story of these two soul mates finally seeing the love they share is gripping and so beautifully written that you will feel like you are part of the story. There are so many obsticles and trials in their way, but together they come out on top.
His father and her father are just as messed up as each other. Both playing games to achieve what they want without any thought for their children.
I beautifully written dark romance that will keep you turning the pages right till the end.
WARNING: This book is NOT a fluffy love story. It is dark and twisted with elements that some may not like. It does contain rape, kidnapping, murder, drugs and lots of profound language but it also contains a wonderful love story about to soul mates and their love for each other.
